BUILDING IMPROVEMENT: D99 SCHOOLS SEE CAMPUS UPGRADES, REFRESHES OVER THE SUMMER 🔨👷

Posted Date: 8/08/25 (12:00 PM)

Student camps and staff professional developments haven't been the only things taking place in our school buildings during these summer months!

Since June, the District's Buildings and Grounds Department and outside contractors have been hard at work behind the scenes working on a variety of housekeeping and upgrading projects, taking advantage of the limited time when school are quieter and learning won't be interrupted with the sounds of construction.

In recent weeks, completed or close-to completion projects across District 99 have included:

🚧 Brand-new gymnasium flooring at Columbus East, Goodwin and Sherlock
🚧 Elevator modernization projects at Columbus West and Liberty
🚧 New bathroom flooring and refreshed wall painting at Cicero West and Columbus East

In addition to the ongoing site cleanup and demolition of Burnham and future construction of the District's newest early childhood center, a few other exciting projects have been in the works this summer as well — just not ready for a final reveal!

Thank you to the hardworking men and women who have made these campus improvements possible so that students and staff return to a new school year able to enjoy long-deserved upgrades.
